Our History
Hank’s Excavating & Landscaping, Inc. in Belleville is well known for its commitment to excellence and experienced execution throughout the St. Louis metropolitan region.
Hanks began operation in 1978. Hank basically saw a need and filled it. When working as a carpenter & hod carrier for bricklayers, he noticed that work was available for grading and mowing properties while they were under construction. Hank bought a small tractor, box scraper and mower and went into business for himself. (He still has that first tractor). In 1986, he built the business on the grounds off Route 161 in Belleville. |
Hank has expanded a dozen times by remodeling or adding a building. It was in 1986 he bid & was awarded I64 & Route 159 on/off ramp by IDOT. That was the first of a very successful relationship with the State of Illinois. The company also did a substantial amount of cable placement, restoration and building of the underground infrastructure for SBC/Ameritech.
|
Hank’s other projects include the Lambert Airport Expansion, new stadium at Belleville East, site work for the new Belleville West campus, the Center Oil Ethanol Plant, and the Metro Link maintenance facility, Waste Management’s new facility in Marissa, road reconstruction in Collinsville by the famous Brooks catsup bottle, Prairie State road work. Projects also include sewer repairs and construction for various municipalities, and road construction in St. Clair, Monroe, Madison and Washington counties. Projects vary from hundreds of dollars to millions of dollars. |
|
Over the years, Hank’s has expanded to include concrete construction, cellular concrete pumping, trailer mounted concrete pumping, asphalt paving, road milling, street sweeping, tree/brush cutting, demolition, sewer line installation, sewer cleaning, trenching, boring, pipe bursting, HDPE pipe fusion, sewer televising, hydro excavation, earth moving/grading, and complete lawn maintenance.
