Petals Remembered

Petals Remembered, an enterprise of the Illinois Center for Autism is a unique floral preservation shop. Petals Remembered was specifically designed to provide vocational training and employment opportunities for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) while serving the dried floral needs of our customers.

All arrangements are crafted by using your dried flowers in celebration of special events such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, birth of a baby or to remember a loved one. We design dried floral arrangements that will last a lifetime.

Flowers represent a celebration for all occasions of life to include birth, in loving memory of a loved one due to life’s departure, weddings, special events and much more. Preserving flowers to remember a special occasion is the best way to hold on to life’s memories.

Your Flowers and Preservation

Floral preservation is a process that removes moisture from the flowers which results in dehydration.  Once this process is completed, the flowers maintain the dehydrated state and protects it form to maintain the shape and most times its natural color.

Care Instructions for Fresh Flowers prior to Delivery:

Timing is of the essence when making a decision to preserve a special floral arrangement.  The preservation process and the outcome of the overall appearance is determined when we receive the floral arrangement… FRESH is BEST!

1. Keep your flowers fresh until delivery.
2. Do Not Freeze your flowers because frost causing damage and browning.
3. Trim the stems using a diagonal cut and place in water.
4. Store flowers in a cool refrigerated place.
5. Don’t worry, some browning on the edges is no problem.

My Event has already occurred and I still have the flowers?

It may not be too late to preserve your flowers, so follow the provided Care Instructions in order to preserve your Petals to be Remembered.

All orders for floral preservation product requires a deposit and all fresh flowers to be preserved to get started.  Final balance is due upon delivery of product.  We provide our customers with care instructions for their purchased product.

Shadow Boxes

Shadow Boxes are supplied in four finishes: Oak, Black, Silver or White and four standard sizes.  Custom size boxes priced to order.

Customers may provide our preservation specialist with memorabilia such as prayer cards, invitations, pictures and more to enhance the look of the custom shadow box.

Bead Jewelry

Our floral preservation specialist takes care and precision in creating jewelry for our customers.  This product contains your fresh flowers and a water-based clay which is sculpted into a bead formation made to be worn with style and remembrance.

Bird Feeders

Sit back and enjoy all that nature has to offer with an organic product to attract all kind of birds to your yard.  Bird feeders are a great way to bring in birds from all flock of life and they are a spectacular gifts for the nature lover at heart.  Our bird feeders are made by hand with all natural products to help feed the flock of birds in your neighborhood or even for the flock migrating through.
